A person who kept a 1.5 meter long crocodile in his home in the Kartal district of Istanbul was detained by police teams. While the crocodile was confiscated, the incident caused great repercussions on social media.
A person named Akan Polat, who lives in a residence in Kartal, shared the video on his social media accounts of him dressing the crocodile he owns in a blue sweater and walking it on the street with a leash. Taking action after this incident, Istanbul Police Department Anti-Smuggling Crimes Branch teams raided Polat’s house.
1.5 Meter Long Crocodile Confiscated
When police teams entered the balcony, they encountered a large aquarium installation with a crocodile. During the search, a 1.5 meter long crocodile and a crocodile taxidermy were spotted. While the confiscated crocodile and taxidermy were delivered to the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, the suspect Akan Polat was taken to the police and legal action was taken.
