Manisa Deputy Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu and Salihli Chamber of Agriculture President Made Inspections
CHP Manisa Deputy Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu made inspections in the area where 10 thousand decares of land were damaged in the forest fire that occurred in and around Yarbasan District of Manisa’s Salihli district. Bakırlıoğlu stated that thousands of decares of olive groves and vineyards were damaged in the areas affected by the fire, and also stated that 5 houses, tractors and equipment were damaged in the fire. Member of Parliament and President of the Chamber of Agriculture emphasized that the state should extend an urgent helping hand to damaged farmers and citizens.
Extent of Damage and Responsibility of the State
Salihli Chamber of Agriculture President Cem Yalvaç stated that the fire caused great damage in the Yarbasan District of Manisa’s Salihli district, and that there were losses in houses, tractors and animals as well as olive groves. Yalvaç stated that the state should support the citizens damaged by the fire as soon as possible and requested help.
Manisa Deputy Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu visited the fire area and stated that an area of 10 thousand decares was damaged and 5 planes, 4 helicopters and many vehicles intervened to extinguish the fire. Referring to past fires, Bakırlıoğlu stated that the state should intervene more effectively and quickly against forest fires.
Salihli Yarbasan Neighborhood Headman also drew attention to the effects of the fire and stated that olive trees, houses and tractors were damaged and that they requested help from the state. Mukhtar drew attention to the seriousness of the losses suffered by the neighborhood residents after the fire.
