Death of Brothers in Hotel Room in Izmir
Details of the incident
A new development has emerged regarding the death of two brothers, aged 14 and 12, in a hotel room in Konak district of Izmir. It was learned that the cause of death of the children was considered to be food poisoning. The incident took place yesterday at around 23:00 in a hotel on 1296 Street in Basmane district of Konak district.
Progress of the Event
Mother Gönül Uğraş, who works as a florist, came to a hotel to stay with her 4 children on the evening of Friday, June 21. The mother, who spent the night with her children at the hotel, went to the pharmacy to buy medicine Yesterday morning, taking her two children with her, and never returned to the hotel. His other two children, Ege (14) and Handan Uğraş (12), stayed at the hotel.
Investigation of the Incident
Later, Ege went down to the ground floor at noon to use the common sink in the hotel and went back upstairs after a while. Z.Ö., the receptionist working at the hotel at the time. He went upstairs to check the rooms at night. When officer Z.Ö. checked the room where the Uğraş family was staying, he found the two siblings, Ege and Handan, lying motionless on the bed.

Upon Z.Ö.’s notice, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the examinations made by the medical teams in the hotel room, it was determined that the two brothers lost their lives. After the prosecutor’s examination, the bodies of the two brothers were taken to the morgue of the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.
