The carved rock caves located in the village of Tödürge in the Zara district of Sivas attract attention with their 4,000-year history. This prehistoric settlement impresses those who see it with its apartment-shaped structure. It is thought that the caves have approximately 100 rooms and are used for shelter and refuge. However, the passing years and environmental effects are causing the caves to erode.

The villagers want these unique structures to be preserved and opened for tourism. Osman Lafçı, as one of the villagers, believes that the caves should be opened for tourism. Arrangements and lighting around the caves could attract tourists. Lafçı emphasizes the contrast between the cool air inside the caves and the heat outside, and states that this place should be turned into a tourist attraction. He states that a rearrangement should be made due to damage from the restoration done in the past.

“As the villagers, we want the caves to be used for tourism.” – Osman Lafci
