The 105th anniversary of the declaration of the historical Amasya Circular, in which the fire of independence of the national struggle was lit and the road map of the War of Independence was determined, was celebrated with a ceremony in Amasya. Amasya Governor Yılmaz Doruk, Garrison Commander Brigadier General Kemal Çakıroğlu, Mayor Turgay Sevindi, AK Party Deputy Hasan Çilez, CHP Deputy Reşat Karagöz and other important names and citizens attended the ceremony held in front of Saraydüzü Barracks Building.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. Then, to represent the publication of the Amasya Circular, a scene depicting the words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends, “The nation’s independence will be saved by the nation’s determination and decision,” was displayed. The ceremony, which continues with the presentation of wreaths, aims to keep the spirit of national struggle alive and transfer it to younger generations.
