Bomb Report in Bursa: World War I Ammunition Found
In Bursa’s Nilüfer district, Hüseyin E. (48) called the police around 04:00 and reported that a bomb was found in his father Ali E.’s house. Upon this notice, security forces took action quickly and carried out an operation at Ali E.’s house on 153rd Street in Kayapa District.
According to initial findings, during the searches made in the basement of the 3-storey house, an ammunition 40 centimeters long and 12 centimeters in diameter, thought to be from World War I, was found. Bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene to assess the situation and take security measures.
After a detailed examination by experts, the ammunition was taken from its location and taken for examination. Ali E. was taken to the police station to take his statement regarding the incident. It has been reported that a comprehensive investigation has now been launched into the incident.
While such incidents cause great fear and anxiety among the public, the rapid intervention of the security forces was appreciated.
