Preparations for the World Nomad Games, which will be held for the 5th time this year, are in full swing. Kazakhstan will showcase the traditional sports of nomadic peoples at the event, which will be held in Turkestan from 8 to 13 September 2024.
Invitation from the Kazakhstan Ambassador
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ankara Yerkebulan Sapiyev made a statement titled “Embrace the Spirit of the Steppes in the World Nomad Games” and invited Turkey to participate in the event. Sapiyev emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage and stated that the Games reflect the resilience and creativity of nomadic cultures.

Featured Sport: Kokpar
Kokpar , an exciting sport similar to polo but with a nomadic twist. In which teams of horses compete to control a goat carcass, the sport highlights the importance of horses in nomadic culture.
Ethnovillage and Cultural Activities
The event will also feature cultural events such as “Ethnovilage”, where traditional craftsmen’s works are exhibited, and “Aitys”, a music competition attended by the raiders.
National Cuisine Festival
The National Cuisine Festival, where visitors can experience traditional Kazakh dishes and drinks, will host master classes that will showcase Kazakh hospitality and warmth.
