Clashes Between PKK/YPG and Arab Tribes in Deir ez-Zor
In Deir ez-Zor, violent clashes broke out this morning between the terrorist organization and Arab tribes under pressure in the areas occupied by PKK/YPG terrorists. According to information obtained by AA correspondent from local sources, clashes occurred in a total of 9 different locations in the eastern and southeastern countryside.
Arab tribes carried out attacks on alleged PKK/YPG road checkpoints and headquarters in the villages of Busayra, Ibrahiyye, Elharice, Tayyane, Ebu Hammam, Gazanic, Keşkiyye, Ziban and Ellatva. These clashes are a continuation of previous fierce clashes between the PKK/YPG and Arab tribes in the region.
Occupation Policies of PKK/YPG
The PKK/YPG occupation of Deir ez-Zor is carried out under the pretext of “fighting against ISIS” with the support of the US army. The entire population under occupation consists of Arabs. The terrorist organization attempts to forcefully recruit Arab children in the regions it occupies.
The organization generates income by selling oil obtained by seizing wells in the region to the Damascus administration through smugglers, despite US sanctions. While using this income for its own activities, the local population is deprived of basic services and aid. This situation in Deir ez-Zor deepens the humanitarian crisis in the region and makes the living conditions of the local population difficult.
