The statement emphasized that Saudi Arabia is an ally that creates political stability and economic progress in the Gulf Region, and that this sale will increase Saudi Arabia’s security and thus support the foreign policy and national security goals of the United States.

It was stated that the proposed sale would increase Saudi Arabia’s deterrence ability against current and future threats, and that the equipment and support approved for sale would not change the military balance in the region.
