UN Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric answered an AA reporter’s question about Israel’s targeting of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital and Israeli soldiers posing in front of the hospital during his daily press conference. Dujarric emphasized that the World Health Organization opposes attacks on health facilities and said, “Hospitals and health facilities should not be conflict zones.” He stated that although he had not seen the photo taken by Israeli soldiers, they found such situations shocking.

Dujarric, while providing information about the situation in Gaza, said that the Israeli army has stopped all humanitarian aid passing through the northern part of the Gaza Valley today, and therefore, aid has not been delivered to thousands of people. He also said that many people have been displaced from Gaza City and that those displaced are facing the intervention of Israeli soldiers.

When asked about the statements of the occupying Israeli Prime Ministry Spokesperson regarding UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini, Dujarric stated that such statements were unacceptable and warned, “These statements also endanger Lazzarini.” He also stated that Israel’s investigation regarding the attack on UNRWA staff on October 7 were being investigated in detail.
