Putin’s Response to Western Influence
During a televised meeting with top officials, President Putin vehemently condemned the West, blaming it for the recent Ukrainian offensive. “The West is engaging in a battle against us through the hands of the Ukrainians,” he stated. His remarks underscored the extent to which this unexpected attack has rattled Russian leadership. He further asserted, “The enemy will certainly receive the response it deserves, and all our objectives will undoubtedly be fulfilled.”
As Moscow scrambled to formulate a response to the Ukrainian incursion in the Kursk region, military officials from Kyiv reported ongoing Russian assaults on Ukrainian positions in the east. The acting governor of the Kursk region communicated via video link with Putin, revealing that 28 towns and villages had fallen under Ukrainian control. He reported that Ukrainian forces had advanced almost 12 kilometers into Russian territory. In contrast, the head of Ukraine’s armed forces claimed control over an even larger area, stating, “We have seized approximately 1,000 square kilometers.”
