Türkiye Aile Destek Programı

Implemented during the coronavirus outbreak Türkiye Family Support Program, aims to provide significant financial support to families in need. Although the program ended in June of last year, its term was extended with new decisions taken by the government. Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, announced that the Turkey Family Support Program will continue until the end of this year and the first payments will be transferred to citizens’ accounts as of August 9.

Minister Göktaş stated that they aim to provide more support to families with the continuation of the program and said, “As a ministry, we will continue to support our citizens with our supply-oriented social assistance approach.” He emphasized that the Turkey Family Support Program is carried out with a rights-based approach that will meet the needs of citizens with all social policy practices.

Göktaş continued his statements as follows: “We provided financial support to many families in our country with the Turkey Family Support Program that we launched during the global pandemic period. We delivered the last payment of this program, which we launched in 2022, to the The most interesting aspect of the program is that a wide range of people, including retirees, widows, orphans and seasonal workers, excluding civil servants, can benefit from this program and has increased the inclusiveness of the program. “Attracted social interest. Last year, we decided to extend the program for another 12 months.”

“Payments will continue to be made to more than 3 million households every month”

Reminding that the Turkey Family Support Program has been extended until the end of this year in line with the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Göktaş shared the following information:

  • We were receiving intense requests from our families to extend the program.
  • Following the extension of the program, we will transfer the first payments to our citizens’ accounts as of August 9th.
  • We will continue to pay a total of 4 billion lira to more than 3 million households every month until the end of 2024.

The allowances, which will be determined according to the monthly income of the families and the number of children, are designed to include electricity consumption support. During the 2-year program, approximately 68 billion lira of family support was provided to more than 4 million households. In addition, more than 20 billion liras of child support was provided for approximately 7 million of our children. A total allowance exceeding 88 billion liras has been allocated to date through the Turkey Family Support Program.
