The fish produced in the trout facility operating in the Tuzla Stream in the Tercan district of Erzincan are shipped to Trabzon and Elazığ.
“Trout Production Will Provide Great Profit with State Support”
Erzincan Agriculture and Forestry Provincial Deputy Director Serkan Kütük stated that juvenile and table trout are produced in the trout facility. Kütük said, “Especially in Erzincan, although there is no sea, the fish produced to be sent to the Black Sea will be exported as Black Sea salmon. In this way, it is aimed to obtain great income and increase employment. The support given to trout and table trout production with state support continues and it is planned to increase the support in 2023.”
“Quality Production is Made in Erzincan, Which Has No Sea”
Tercan District Agriculture Director Emre Özelgül drew attention to the fact that Tercan Dam meets the electricity needs of 13 thousand households and the increase in fish production. Özelgül stated that “The fish produced in Erzincan are shipped to Elazığ and Trabzon. Özelgül stated that the annual fish production amount in Tercan Dam has increased and said, “The production, which was 149 tons in 2014, has reached 650 tons as of 2023 .”
“Even though there is no sea in Erzincan, quality fish is produced”
Tercan Fisheries business owner Şükrü Adam explained the fish production process. The man stated that they feed the fish at six in the morning and do not go back to the fish throughout the day. Adam stated that the water temperature of Tercan Dam is 23-24 degrees, that they clean the nets and that their daily fish production capacity is 50 tons. Adam said, “Although there is no sea in Erzincan, we produce quality fish. We bring the fish to between 250-300 grams and send them to Trabzon and Elazığ.”
