In an operation carried out in Mersin against suspects who were conducting illegal excavations to find historical artifacts, 6 people were caught red-handed by gendarmerie teams.
Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams conducted an operation against two different groups searching for treasure in Erdemli and Mezitli districts. The identified suspects were followed and simultaneous operations were carried out.

As a result of the operation, a total of 6 suspects were caught red-handed, 2 in Erdemli district and 4 in Mezitli district. In addition, a large number of materials used in illegal excavations were seized.
The captured suspects were handed over to the gendarmerie for processing.
