Traditional Ahi Wrestling Grand Karakucak Wrestling, held every year in Niksar district of Tokat, took place in an exciting atmosphere this year as well. The event was held in Çamiçi Plateau Er Square.
The wrestling matches were enlivened with the participation of famous wrestlers such as Kırkpınar Chief Wrestlers golden belt champions Recep Kara, İsmail Balaban and European champion Erhan Yaylacı. The organization, where nearly a thousand wrestlers from all over Turkey competed, once again demonstrated the importance given to wrestling, our traditional ancestral sport.
Niksar Mayor Semih Tepebaşı stated that they aimed to support the wrestling sport and ensure that young people display their talents in this field. Niksar District Governor Ekrem Çeçen emphasized the importance of the event, which was organized to introduce wrestling to young people and pass it on to future generations.
Among the exciting moments of the wrestling competitions, the emotional moments experienced by the competing child athletes also attract attention. It was seen that the defeated athletes could not hold back their tears.
