The Troy Archaeological Site, located within the borders of Tevfikiye village, is home to a 5,600-year-old civilization. This settlement ancient, which was included in the ‘World Cultural Heritage List’ by UNESCO in 1998, is known as the place where the Trojan Wars took place.

Visited by thousands of local and foreign tourists every year, the Troy Archaeological Site also attracts attention with the Troy Museum, which opened in 2019. Nearly 2 thousand works are exhibited in the museum.

The ongoing excavations at the Troy Archaeological Site are carried out with the permission of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the support of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and the sponsorship of İçdaş. The excavations contribute to the discovery of findings of historical and archaeological importance.

Excavation Director Prof. Dr. Rüstem Aslan stated that research continues in the Hellenistic Roman Agora area during the excavations carried out in Troy in 2024. The team, whose aim is to reach archaeological data from the Trojan War, is investigating the details of the Late Bronze Age Southern entrance associated with Homer’s Troy.

In the area where excavations are ongoing, it is aimed to determine the existence of an area similar to a city square from the Late Bronze Age. Excavation Director Aslan emphasizes that the work continues to support the thesis that Homer’s Troy was a lower city. The team, which aims to reach archaeological data from the Trojan War, is meticulously working to unearth traces of the past.
