Importance of Jerusalem Emphasized
In a written statement made by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was emphasized that the “Beijing Dialogue” should be implemented in a way that contributes to the unification of national ranks against Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories . The statement stated that the “Beijing Dialogue”, which is considered an important step towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, should have Jerusalem as its capital.
Egypt’s Satisfaction
The Spokesperson of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, stated that his country welcomes all efforts to achieve Palestinian national reconciliation. Abu Zeid welcomed the “Beijing Dialogue” and emphasized the necessity of Palestinian national unity to realize the dream of an independent Palestinian state.
About the Beijing Dialogue
China hosted a comprehensive national meeting of Palestinian groups, including the Fatah Movement and Hamas, on July 21 and 22. Following the reconciliation talks, high-level representatives of 14 Palestinian groups signed the “Beijing Dialogue”, which aims to end divisions among them and create unity.
