The Kırkpınar Swimming Championship, which was held within the scope of the 663rd Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling organized by the Turkish Swimming Federation in Edirne, has ended. A total of 20 clubs and 430 athletes from Istanbul, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli and Edirne participated in the competitions held in the Olympic Swimming Pool.
In the Kırkpınar Swimming Championship, Çorlu Municipality Youth and Sports Club came first, Edirne Swimming Education Center Sports Club came second and Edirne DSİ Sports Club came third. The successful athletes in the championship received their medals and cups.
Turkish Swimming Federation Provincial Representative Ayhan Dinç stated in his statement that the athletes had a great swimming feast for 3 days. He emphasized that an important platform was created for athletes in young age groups and they had the opportunity to prove themselves. Dinç thanked the participating clubs and athletes.
Stating that the championship was organized within the scope of the 663rd Historical Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling events with the support of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Dinç said, “We organize our swimming championship, which has become a tradition before Kırkpınar wrestling, every year. I wish success to our wrestlers who will participate in Kırkpınar.”
