Turkish Airlines’ Strong Position in Europe

Turkish Airlines (THY) General Manager Bilal Ekşi stated that they fly to more than 1,900 countries per week in Europe, emphasizing that they are the airline that flies to more countries in the world. Connecting 130 countries to the world with 347 destinations, THY flies to 121 destinations in 42 European countries.

Ekşi stated that they are celebrating the 90th anniversary of Turkish Airlines and that they have been continuously expanding their flight network since 2003, and announced their goal as flying to 400 destinations by 2033. Currently having the 9th largest fleet in the world, THY aims to become the 3rd largest fleet in the world with 813 aircraft by 2033.

Stating that Turkish Airlines’ prestige is also crowned with awards, Ekşi said that the awards they received in different categories are proof that they have perfected their work. THY, which has won prestigious awards such as SKYTRAX, APEX and WORLD FINANCE, constantly focuses on improving its service quality.

TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan announced that they operate 15 airports in 8 countries and will serve 96 million passengers at 15 airports in 2023. In addition to Turkey, TAV Airports operates airports in Latvia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Medina, Georgia and Kazakhstan.

Pegasus’s Place in the Aviation Industry

Pegasus CEO Güliz Öztürk stated that they are the second largest airline company in Turkey, and said that they carried 32 million passengers last year and have a widespread flight network. Öztürk emphasized that Pegasus flies to a total of 148 destinations and plays an important role in international flights, and stated that they are the best performing company in the world in terms of operational profitability after Covid-19.

Öztürk, who stated that Pegasus uses Sabiha Gökçen as its main center and Antalya as a second center, provided information about the company’s growth strategies. Öztürk, who stated that they will continue to grow by adding 16 new aircraft to the fleet in the near future, stated that they aim to increase service quality by effectively using their centers in Turkey.
