The written statement from the committee said, “The assassination of the great national leader Ismail Haniyeh was carried out within the framework of the Zionist state terror, genocide, destruction and annihilation war, in light of the inability of the international community to stop the war and to prosecute the occupiers for their crimes.”
The statement included the following statements: “The Committee of the National and Islamic Forces of Palestine, at a time when the martyr commander Ismail Haniyeh is mourned, confirms to all the Palestinian people and the free peoples of the world that this cowardly assassination will not “break our people’s will to resist and endure, but on the contrary, it will increase our determination to move forward, adhering to our rights, principles, struggle and resistance for independence and freedom.”
The committee called on Palestinians to hold strikes and protest marches on the contact lines. News of Haniyeh’s martyrdom was announced over loud speakers in mosques in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, while strikes were held in many cities.
