Answering questions from MPs in the British Parliament, Starmer made assessments on the international meetings he has held since taking office on July 5, as well as the NATO Summit and the European Political Community Summit he attended. Starmer continued his speech as follows: “I met with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. I said clearly that I defend Israel’s right to provide for its own security and that the prisoners must return. I also said clearly that the situation in Gaza has become unbearable and that the world must not turn its Back on innocent civilians, including children and women, who are facing death, disease and displacement. We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of the prisoners and a massive inflow of humanitarian aid. That is our government’s policy. way to achieve this.”

Starmer also noted that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) was continuing its review of the advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel’s practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.
