Children gathered in front of the Gülpınar Mosque in Meydan Neighborhood and walked towards Prof. Dr. Sebahattin Zaim Park, carrying Turkish and Palestinian flags. The children gathered here protested Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Speaking on behalf of the group, 11-year-old Emir Demiryol said they came together to be the voice of their Palestinian peers. Drawing attention to the fact that thousands of children have lost their lives as a result of Israeli attacks, Demiryol said: “The world is filled with pain and tears because of the oppressors who do not recognize the right to life of children and those who support them. We, the children, will continue to stand against this oppression.”
During the protest event, the Quran was read and prayers were said for those who lost their lives in the Israeli attacks. At the end of the event, children released balloons in the colors of the Palestinian flag into the sky.
