Silver Medal for Turkey in the 10 Meter Air Pistol Mixed Category

In the 10-meter air pistol mixed category final held at the Chateauroux Shooting Center, the duo of Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan, representing Turkey, competed against the Serbian team. The Turkish athletes, who lost to their opponents 16-14 in the exciting match, won the silver medal. With this success, Yusuf Dikeç and Şevval İlayda Tarhan won Turkey’s first medal in the shooting branch.

The Serbian team that won the gold medal was made up of Damir Mikec and Zorana Arunovic, while the bronze medal went to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh from India. Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak also watched the final competitions and supported the Turkish athletes.

This success, which is the 10th time Turkey has won a medal in shooting at the Olympic Games, was greeted with pride by the Turkish sports community. Previously, medals were won in wrestling, weightlifting, taekwondo, boxing, karate, athletics, judo, archery and gymnastics.
