Silent March in Support of Gaza in Erzurum
The silent march against Israel’s attacks on Gaza, which has been going on for 32 weeks in Erzurum, is being organized by health workers. Doctors, medical students and other health workers gathered in front of the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque and walked to the Yakutiye Madrasa accompanied by Turkish and Palestinian flags.
The statement said that doctors and healthcare workers in Turkey continued their silent marches in the 32nd week in order not to forget Gaza, to keep consciences alive and to show their stance against oppression. It also said, “In order not to remain silent against oppression, we come together every Saturday and keep our conscience watch. We are here on the 267th day of the massacre in Gaza. We invite you to make our voices heard against this inhumane situation .”
Emphasizing that they prayed throughout the march and that they will continue their support, healthcare workers condemned Israel’s attacks on Gaza and stated that the international community should not remain indifferent to this human tragedy. It was also noted that the health conditions in Gaza are gradually deteriorating and the need for humanitarian and medical aid is increasing.
Israel’s Cruelty and the Painful Truths in Gaza
Speaking at the silent march, healthcare professionals drew attention to the painful realities in Gaza and said, “We cannot remain silent while shameful events are happening for humanity. While the number of people dying of hunger is increasing, children and patients are losing their lives.” “due to lack of medicine. While we are here condemning Israel’s cruelty, we will be delivered to Gaza.” “We are determined to be a part of the aid.” They said.
It was stated that the marches organized to raise public awareness and support the people in Gaza were growing larger and more vocal with each passing week, and it was emphasized that the international community needed to take more steps to stop Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
