Specialist sergeant Gökhan Çelik, who killed teacher Hatice Çelik and seriously injured her brother-in-law Murat Akdöker in the incident that took place in Adana, was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station and was arrested in court.

The incident took place on June 28 on Güneykuşak Boulevard in the Seyhan district. Hatice Çelik, a teacher in the car driven by Murat Akdöker, and her husband, sergeant Gökhan Çelik, with whom she had a jealousy-related disagreement, lost her life in the armed attack and Murat Akdöker was seriously injured.

The suspect, Gökhan Çelik, who escaped after the incident, was caught by the police teams and was treated in the hospital where he was taken injured. In Çelik’s statement, it was stated that he explained the concerns he had with his wife about the divorce and how the argument developed.
