Search and Rescue Efforts After Attack in Gaza

Gazze'de Saldırı Sonrası Arama Kurtarma Çalışmaları

The Civil Defense Organization in Gaza has announced important developments following the airstrike launched by Israel on August 21. The attack was carried out on a family home located west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Civil defense teams are continuing search and rescue efforts in the rubble of the Abu Hedrus family home, which was targeted in the attack.

As a result of the efforts, the bodies of 11 Palestinians who lost their lives in the attack were found. This tragic incident once again highlighted the humanitarian situation in the region. Israeli army warplanes bombed the Abu Hedrus family home, causing great destruction. Unfortunately, health and civil defense teams who wanted to rescue the wounded were unable to reach the area due to the obstacles of Israeli soldiers.

Israeli soldiers who entered Khan Younis had targeted the northern and western parts of the city in attacks that lasted for days. However, as of yesterday, they withdrew from these areas and headed towards the eastern parts. With the withdrawal of the soldiers, the extent of the destruction and damage to Palestinian properties became apparent. Especially in the areas north of Khan Younis, dozens of houses were razed to the ground and Palestinian properties were bulldozed.
