Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez attended the NATO Atlantic Council Heads of State and Government Session in Washington. In his speech at the closed-door meeting, Sanchez emphasized that the support given to Ukraine cannot be accused of applying double standards.

“We cannot be accused of applying double standards in our support for Ukraine. We expect the same consistent stance against Gaza as against Russia’s occupation of Ukraine,” Sanchez reported to have said in his speech.

“It is important for our citizens to understand our consistent political stance. If we say that we respect international law and support Ukraine, we must take the same stance in Gaza. If we demand respect for international law in Ukraine, it must be respected in Gaza as well,” Sanchez said.
