Royal Jelly Production in Sivas: Hamza Çınar’s Success
Hamza Çınar, who operates one of Turkey’s largest royal jelly production facilities in the village of Pusat in the Hafik district of Sivas, produces a quarter of the approximately 1 ton of royal jelly produced annually in our country. Although royal jelly has a more difficult production process than honey, it attracts attention with its much higher economic value.
This valuable liquid obtained from the glands on the heads of honey bees has beneficial effects against many diseases by accelerating cell renewal. It is known to accelerate the healing process and reduce the side effects of chemotherapy, especially in cancer treatment. It also plays an important role in protecting heart health by balancing sugar and cholesterol levels.
This year, the price of royal jelly per kilogram varies between 25-30 thousand TL, which pleases the producers. Approximately 30-40 percent of the royal jelly produced is consumed in the domestic market, while the remaining 70 percent is exported abroad. The fact that only 1 gram of royal jelly can be obtained from three cells in the hives once again reveals how valuable this product is.
