After the orders are taken, the meals and drinks are placed on trays. After the waiter enters the order information into the robot’s system, the robot moves to the customer’s table. The orders are carried by the robot and served at the table by the waiter. The robot returns to the designated spot after saying “enjoy your meal” to the customers. It also has the ability to play uploaded music.

The manager, Ömer Çelik, stated that the robot waiter has been used in their venue for about a month and that they have experienced staff shortages during the summer season. Çelik said, “With the start of the summer season, we preferred this robot solution because most of the staff went to touristic areas. The robot provides us with great benefits by taking our meals and drinks to the tables. Since we bought it, it “has been serving 300-400 times a day.”

‘Interesting Features of the Robot’

Business manager Sabri Gel emphasized that the robot increased customer interest. Come, who stated that the robot reduced the workload of employees, said, “There are people who come here for dinner just to see the robot. The robot can be operated for approximately 7-8 hours a day and charges in a short time. Think of it as if you already have an employee, it acts completely according to the commands you give. When a large group comes, the waiters can only carry 7-8 plates. However, you can load the food for 15-20 people onto it. “The robot and send it.”

‘Customer Reviews’

Customer Esra Işık said she was intrigued by the robot waiter, which she saw for the first time. “It’s a really interesting experience. Ordering from the robot is very fun,” she said.

‘Openness to Technological Innovations’

Biral Serttaş, the Adana Branch President of the All Restaurants and Tourism Association, emphasized that restaurants should be open to technological innovations. Serttaş said, “When the tourism seasons start in the summer months, we are experiencing a need for personnel in our businesses on the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. Robots perform the work of several personnel electronically with their own skills. This makes the work of our “businesses easier.”

Serttaş stated that robots do not have much functionality in the production part of kebab shops and restaurants in Adana, but they provide great convenience in the service part. “When the table number is entered from the production area, the robot can take the service to the table on its own. This makes the staff’s job easier and the customers like it,” he added.

Ahmet Uzel, the general manager of a private company that sells the robots, stated that three businesses in Adana are currently using the robots. Uzel said, “The robots work with a cloud-based system and are managed in accordance with the permissions of the businesses. First, the area and tables in the business where they will be used are defined. Then, they carry out the entered commands themselves. This is a matter of curiosity for many people in the region and we are receiving positive feedback that it benefits businesses.”
