BOZBEY: INTERVENTION CONTINUES WITH 150 PERSONNEL AND 4 HELICOPTERS

In Bursa, a stubble fire that spread to the forest within the Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) campus is being fought by 150 personnel on land and 4 helicopters from the air.

STATEMENT FROM PRESIDENT BOZBEY

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Bozbey said in a statement at the Uludağ University campus, “We hope to bring the fire under control in a short time. The fight continues with fire crews, vehicles and helicopters.”

CAUSE OF THE FIRE AND INTERVENTION

Bozbey stated that the fire started with the burning of stubble and called on citizens to protect nature. It was stated that 150 personnel, 16 fire teams, 20 tankers and 4 helicopters intervened against the fire.

It was reported that animals on campus were evacuated to safe areas, student dormitories were evacuated, and the fire was progressing among the pine trees.

CONCLUSION AND WISHES

Bozbey emphasized that intense efforts were made to control the fire and that everyone’s safety at the forefront was, adding that public awareness was needed to be increased to prevent fires.
