GCC Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed al-Budeiwi opposed Israel’s plan to legalize five illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank where Jews who usurped Palestinian lands live, stressing that it was against international law and legitimate decisions. Budeiwi warned that Israel’s policies would deepen the problems in the region.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry also stated that it strongly condemned Israel’s demand to legalize illegal settlements and called for compliance with international decisions.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel’s plan to expand illegal settlements in the West Bank, describing it as a clear violation of international agreements.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs also condemned the Israeli Security Cabinet’s plan to legalize illegal settlements, stating that this step is a dangerous threat to efforts to establish a Palestinian state.

On June 28, the Israeli Security Cabinet approved the legalization of 5 illegal settlements in the West Bank at the request of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

Illegal settlements are often built on Palestinian agricultural land and are considered illegal under Israeli law. Israelis in these settlements harass Palestinians and prevent them from accessing their agricultural land.
