Railway Accident in Sivas
The accident in Sivas took place at around 13:00 on the Samsun-Sivas line across from the Hamidiye Millet Garden on the Sivas-Ankara highway. Locomotive numbered DE 24 352, en route from Samsun to Sivas, overturned after hitting a concrete block on the side of the line during a manoeuvre.
As a result of the accident, two engineers on the locomotive, MPT and MN, were injured. Immediately after the incident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene due to the urgency of the situation. The injured engineers were quickly carried to the ambulance by medical teams and taken to Numune Hospital.
It was learned that the health condition of the injured engineers was stable and there was no danger to their lives. It was stated that a detailed investigation was launched regarding the incident. It was stated that the necessary investigations will be carried out to investigate the causes of the accident and possible cases of negligence.
Attention is drawn to the importance of precautions to be taken and improvements to be made regarding railway safety in order to prevent such accidents.
