Important Messages from President Erdoğan to Ethiopia

Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan'dan Etiyopya'ya Önemli Mesajlar

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the importance of Turkey’s ongoing efforts to end the current tension between Somalia and Ethiopia. According to a statement from the Directorate of Communications, during the phone conversation between Erdoğan and Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, relations between the two countries as well as regional and global developments were discussed.

During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that relations between Turkey and Ethiopia are getting stronger every day and that these positive developments will reinforce stability in the region. It was also stated that the two leaders emphasized the need to increase their strategic cooperation.

Ethiopia Draws Attention to Somalia’s Unity

President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey is determined to continue its efforts to end the tension between Somalia and Ethiopia. Erdoğan stated that steps taken by Ethiopia to address concerns about Somalia’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity would facilitate this process.

Erdogan also touched upon Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza, condemning the situation. He stated that Ethiopia’s support for the Palestinian cause, in line with human conscience, would greatly contribute to the international community’s efforts for lasting peace.

President Erdoğan’s statements once again demonstrated Turkey’s determination for peace and stability in the region. Turkey has been playing an active role in strengthening relations and establishing peace between Somalia and Ethiopia for many years.
