President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Abdusselam and Hemmam Haniyeh, the sons of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas Political Bureau who was assassinated in Tehran a few days ago. This important meeting took place upon Erdoğan’s return to Istanbul following the opening ceremony of Çukurova International Airport.
During the reception, President Erdoğan expressed his condolences for the tragic event that Ismail Haniyeh experienced and shared the pain of the family. He emphasized that Haniyeh was an important figure in the Palestinian cause and that his loss would have a profound impact on the region.
In addition, important figures such as the Director of the National Intelligence Organization İbrahim Kalın and the Chief Advisor to the President Sefer Turan were also present at this meaningful reception alongside President Erdoğan. During the meeting, views were exchanged on developments in the region and the future of Hamas.
