President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Washington, the capital of the United States, to attend the NATO Heads of State and Government Summit. He met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Walter E. Convention Center as part of the summit. During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Greece, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed.
President Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey’s good neighborly relations with Greece during the meeting, and stated that efforts to develop a spirit of solidarity would continue to increase. He also emphasized that positive steps should be taken to end the conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine, and pointed out the importance of regional countries making joint efforts to establish peace.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan and Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security Ambassador Akif Çağatay Kılıç also attended the meeting.
