President Erdogan: “Israel Should Abandon Its Intention to Spread Conflict to the Region”
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to Berlin to support our National Football Team, which is playing against the Netherlands in the Euro 2024 Quarter Finals in Germany. Answering questions from reporters on the plane on his return home, President Erdoğan shared information about the ceasefire talks in Gaza.
Erdoğan made the following assessment regarding the recent developments in Gaza:
“There have been some seriously positive developments on the Gaza issue for the last two or three days. The head of Mossad is talking about talks with Hamas officials in Doha. Some positive steps were taken in the talks that foresaw a permanent ceasefire. They are Now we are saying “moment by moment” about a ceasefire. In other words, accurate news may come from there moment by moment. But the whole issue is Netanyahu’s attitudes. Israel should not continue this cruelty and savagery any longer. Israel should stop resisting these massacres and end these inhuman attacks. It is imperative that the international community and especially Western countries increase their pressure on Israel on this issue. It is Israel that has insisted on attacks and massacres to this day. It is Israel that has trampled on human rights and international law. Now they are threatening Lebanon to spread conflicts to the region and to relieve themselves. Israel should abandon its intention to spread conflicts to the region. Western countries, especially the US, should abandon their support for Israel on this issue. Turkey has been in favor of peace from the very beginning. “Turkey is the country that voices loudest that these conflicts must end and that a two-state solution within the 1967 borders will ensure lasting peace.”
