During two radio interviews this week, President Biden faced scrutiny over the questions posed to him, as it was revealed that the interviewers had been provided with a list of questions in advance by members of Mr. Biden’s team. One of the interview hosts, Andrea Lawful-Sanders, disclosed this information on CNN.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders, the host of “The Source” on WURD in Philadelphia, stated that Biden officials had given her a list of eight questions before the interview on Wednesday. She confirmed that she had approved the questions provided to her. When asked if the questions were sent by the White House, she replied affirmatively.

Lauren Hitt, a spokeswoman for the Biden campaign, clarified that it was campaign aides, not White House officials, who shared the list of questions. She mentioned that while it is common for campaigns to suggest preferred topics, interviews are not contingent upon the acceptance of these questions by the interviewer. Hosts are encouraged to ask questions that they believe will benefit their audience.

Subsequently, a source familiar with the campaign’s booking procedures revealed that the policy had been revised. Interview hosts are still encouraged to ask any questions they see fit, but the campaign will no longer provide suggested questions to hosts.
