A 6-storey building in Esenler, which developed cracks during construction work, was evacuated and sealed for security reasons. Cracks that occurred due to construction next to the building located on 1120 Street in Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood, prompted authorities to take action. Police and municipal police teams were dispatched to the scene.
As a result of the investigations, the residents of the building were evacuated and it was decided to seal the building. In a statement made by Esenler Municipality, it was stated that 17 people who were evacuated from the building where 5 families lived as a precaution were placed in a hotel, while one family went to stay with their relatives. It was stated that the municipality’s technical teams will take measurements for 3 days to see if there is any slippage in the building and the fate of the building will be determined accordingly. The statement also shared information that the building was built in 1988 and that the upper two floors were illegal.
