Strong Warnings from Palestine to Al-Aqsa Mosque
According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeyne said in a written statement, “The Palestinian people will not accept any damage to the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque under any circumstances. Al-Aqsa Mosque is a red line for us and it will never be allowed to be damaged.” Stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs only to Muslims, Abu Rudeyne strongly condemned Israeli Internal Security Minister Ben-Gwir’s call to build a synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque. He stated that this call was “an attempt to drag the entire region into a religious war that will fill it with fire.”
Abu Rudeyne called on the international community, especially the US, to stand against Israel, which aims to change the historical and religious structure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and stated that the US’s political, military and financial support encourages fanatic Jews to attack the Palestinian people, their lands and their holy values.
Abu Rudeyne also drew attention to the “genocidal war” waged by the occupying Israel in the Gaza Strip, and said that the US was responsible for this situation.
Hamas Warns About Al-Aqsa Mosque
Hamas emphasized that Ben-Gvir’s call to build a synagogue in the Al-Aqsa Mosque is extremely dangerous and called on the Arab and Islamic world to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In a written statement, the movement stated that Israel’s “genocidal war” in the Gaza Strip, the attacks in the West Bank and the projects it is trying to implement in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are “pouring gasoline on the fire.” It emphasized that it will continue its resistance to protect the sacred values of the Palestinian people.
He also called on Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel to “take action” and stressed the importance of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) fulfilling its responsibility regarding the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
