Opening Data at Borsa Istanbul
At the opening, BIST 100 index rose to 9,866.98 points, an increase of 45.02 points and 0.46 percent compared to its previous closing. The banking index gained 0.37 percent and the holding index gained 0.25 percent. Among the sector indices, the sector that gained the most was the construction sector with 0.96 percent, while the sector that decreased the most was the sports sector with 0.55 percent.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index, which moved in a downward trend on Friday, finished the day at 9,821.96 points, losing 1.61 percent in value compared to its previous close. While analysts stated that global stock markets started the week with a mixed course, they stated that the signals from the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium to be held in the USA attracted the attention of investors.
Domestically, all eyes are on the monetary policy decisions to be announced tomorrow by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). All economists participating in the expectations survey expect the CBRT to keep the policy rate constant at 50 percent in August. The average of economists’ year-end policy rate expectations was calculated as 46.50 percent.
Today, short-term foreign debt statistics will be followed domestically and leading index data in the USA will be followed abroad. Technically, in the BIST 100 index, 10,000 and 10,100 levels are resistance points, and 9,800 and 9,700 points stand out as support points.
