In the urban passenger minibus accident that occurred in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakır, 1 out of 2 people lost their lives as a result of the vehicle hitting them. The little girl who was with them in the accident managed to escape without injury. The driver was taken into custody after the accident and the procedures at the police station are ongoing.
Accident Details
The accident occurred at night in Talaytepe Neighborhood, Mesut Yılmaz Street, central Kayapınar district. The city passenger minibus with the registration number 21 M 0490, driven by YE, hit Ahmet M. (45) and his older brother Mehmet M. (53), who were trying to cross the road. Ahmet M.’s daughter Semanur M. escaped without injury during the accident.
Health teams and police were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital after receiving first aid. Ahmet M. could not be saved despite all the interventions at the hospital. It was reported that his brother Mehmet M.’s life was still in danger. Ahmet M.’s lifeless body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for an autopsy.
Accident Investigation and Detention
The police have launched an investigation into the accident. The driver who caused the accident, YE, has been detained and procedures are ongoing at the police station.
