A New Era Begins in Vocational Education

Mesleki Eğitimde Yeni Dönem Başlıyor

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has published the Vocational and Technical Education Policy Document, which it has been working on for a long time. In this new period, which acts with the slogan ‘Everyone should have a profession’, 74 strategies have been determined. Here are some important studies to be carried out within this scope:

AHILITY MOVEMENT IS BEING STARTED

  • An Ahi movement based on Ahi culture will be launched throughout the country.
  • Craft workshops will be opened to provide 7th and 8th grade students with basic vocational skills and instill a love of the profession.
  • Students in regions with underdeveloped industry will be encouraged to receive vocational training in regions with developed industries by offering free boarding opportunities to regional schools. In this context, the “Regional Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School” application will be developed.
  • Employment, investment and entrepreneurship incentives will be structured to give priority to vocational high school graduates.

EMPHASIS WILL BE GIVEN TO FOREIGN LANGUAGES

  • Importance will be given to profession-specific foreign language education.
  • In order to contribute to the defense industry, the infrastructure of the relevant schools will be modernized. In addition, it will be aimed to expand training in the field of agriculture.
  • Healthy life technician, dental prosthesis technician and pharmacy management technician branches will be established under the health services field of vocational and technical Anatolian high schools, and a drug production technician branch will be established in the field of chemical technology.
  • Periodic intensive training practices will be developed in areas such as agriculture, travel services, animal husbandry and health.

SCHOOL PRINCIPAL WILL BE ELECTED FROM THE PROFESSIONAL BRANCH

  • School principals will be selected from workshop and laboratory teachers.
  • Those who will be appointed as school principals for the first time will be guided by an experienced principal.
  • The aim will be to equip school principals with professional management skills.
