According to the news in The Times of Israel newspaper, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made statements about the attacks in Gaza before the weekly cabinet meeting.

While stating that he supported Israel’s offer for a ceasefire in Gaza, Netanyahu claimed that “the only obstacle to the release of the prisoners is Hamas” and stressed that the attacks in Gaza will continue until their goals are achieved.

In an interview with Channel 14 television on June 23, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed out that they would not completely stop the attacks on Gaza and said, “I am ready to make a partial agreement.”

Although the Hamas Movement conveyed its approval of the ceasefire proposal submitted to Qatari and Egyptian authorities on May 6, Israel rejected the offer on the grounds that it “did not meet its conditions.”

US President Joe Biden announced the new three-phase ceasefire proposal presented by Israel on May 31. Netanyahu stated that they would continue their attacks in Gaza until the “determined objectives” were achieved.

Speaking to the House Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on June 3, Netanyahu suggested there were “gaps” between the ceasefire proposal Israel proposed and Biden’s.
