Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu received a statement from the Prime Ministry’s press office, according to White House National Security Council Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Brett McGurk, in his office in West Jerusalem.
It was reported that Netanyahu and McGurk discussed regional issues during the meeting. Netanyahu reportedly told McGurk that “Israel is ready to reach a prisoner swap agreement with Hamas as long as its red lines are maintained.” No details were given as to what “red lines” Netanyahu was referring to.
On the other hand, Netanyahu stated in his statement on July 7 that there were four “non-negotiable” conditions in a possible prisoner swap. Any ceasefire agreement to be reached in Gaza includes conditions such as “securing the right of the occupying Israel to attack Gaza again until the war’s objectives are achieved.”
