Butcher of Gaza Netanyahu made statements regarding Israel’s attacks on Gaza before the weekly cabinet meeting. Asserting that he supports Israel’s ceasefire proposal in Gaza, Netanyahu claimed that “the only obstacle to the release of the prisoners is Hamas.” Netanyahu stated that the attacks that have caused great destruction in Gaza will not end “until they achieve their goals.”

On May 6, the Hamas Movement conveyed to Qatari and Egyptian officials that they approved the ceasefire proposal they submitted, but Israel rejected the proposal on the grounds that it “did not meet its conditions.” On May 31, US President Biden announced that Israel had submitted a new ceasefire proposal consisting of three stages. Biden said that this proposal belonged to Israel, and Netanyahu stated that they would continue their attacks in Gaza until the “specified objectives” were achieved.

Speaking to the House Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on June 3, Netanyahu suggested there were “gaps” between what Israel proposed and what Biden offered.
