The only beach outside of coastal cities where the blue flag flies, the beach in Mollakasım Neighborhood of Tuşba district attracts attention with its beauty worth seeing. The beach, which was awarded the first blue flag in 2018 as a result of an evaluation made on 33 criteria determined under the titles of “environmental education and information”, “swimming water quality”, “environmental management”, “security” and ” services”, hosts tourists, holidaymakers and city residents who stay in summer houses on the lake shore and in hotels in the city every year.
As the air temperature increases, those who come to Mollakasım Public Beach both have picnics in the designated areas and cool off by swimming in the lake.
Business manager Akif Güven said that the beach, which has earned the right to receive a blue flag, is one of the most preferred places for those who want to cool off in the city. Güven, who stated that they have a busy season, said, “The areas where citizens have picnics are constantly cleaned by the staff. Both tourists and city residents show interest in our beach. We also had a busy holiday season. There are pergolas, barbecue areas, playgrounds, showers, a market and a sink in the picnic area on the upper part of the beach.”
Güven, who stated that the season was busier than last year, continued as follows: “In the early hours of the morning, all areas on the beach are filled. When there is no more space in the pergolas, citizens set up the tents they brought. 33 criteria are required to receive the blue flag. Every year, we receive the flag by fulfilling these 33 criteria. Factors such as the environmental order, the cleanliness of the beach and the water are effective here. We also want our guests to help us.”

Karadeniz, who stated that they do all kinds of activities on the beach, said, “It is better to spend our vacation here instead of going to different cities. We make our barbecue and go into the water. It is known as the Van Sea by everyone. These places can be introduced to the world with even more investment.”

Everything is available at the beach and it is incredibly beautiful. Our citizens should be a little more sensitive about this issue and not pollute it. I know all the beaches in the city. This place deserves to receive a blue flag due to its characteristics. Everyone should do their part to ensure this continues.”
