Traffic teams in the Bodrum district of Muğla stopped a driver who was determined to be drunk. However, the driver took advantage of the police officers’ distraction and escaped without stopping. In the incident that took place in Milas, police teams chased and caught the driver who escaped.
The incident occurred in the evening hours. Traffic teams stopped the vehicle with the license plate 20 SC 151 and determined that the driver, S.Ö., was drunk. However, S.Ö. managed to escape with his vehicle when the police were distracted. The driver, who fled in the direction of Milas, was stopped by the police at the smart junction.
The drunk driver made it difficult for the police teams and made threats. S.Ö., who acted aggressively towards the plainclothes police officers who stopped him, said, “I am also the son of a retired chief police officer. The police officers did not take my complaint into consideration. That is why I escaped without stopping “I’m drunk, I accept it.” He also made threats against the police officers and asked them to stay away from his wife.
Handcuffed by police teams, S.Ö. was taken into custody and taken to the police station. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
