In the Mut district of Mersin, which accounts for a large portion of apricot production in Turkey, 200 thousand tons of apricots were produced this year. 100 thousand tons of the apricots were produced and exported to Romania, Russia, Ukraine, India, the Middle East and European countries.

A large portion of table apricot production in Turkey is carried out in the Mut district. The product is also known as apricot, with geographical indications. This year, the open field apricot harvest has been completed and apricot production is carried out in a total area of 79 thousand acres in the Mut district.
Production and Export Figures
This year, the apricot harvest in Mut district was recorded as 200 thousand tons, 100 thousand tons of which was exported. Mersin Metropolitan Mut Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Commissioners Association President Zeki Cüce drew attention to the low apricot prices and stated that producers’ earnings were decreasing.
