Palestinian Prime Minister Mustafa also serves as Foreign Minister. According to a written statement from the Palestinian Prime Ministry, Mustafa met with British Foreign Secretary Lammy in Ramallah, who was in the region to discuss the latest developments in Israel and Palestine.
Mustafa stressed during the meeting that Israel’s attacks on Gaza must be stopped immediately. He also stated that urgent humanitarian aid must be increased and delivered to the region, Israel’s illegal settlement activities in Jerusalem and the West Bank must be prevented, and Israeli attacks on Palestinian lands must be stopped.
Mustafa stated that the resolution 2735 adopted by the United Nations Security Council was an important step in ensuring a ceasefire in Gaza, the return of the residents of the region to their homes, the delivery of humanitarian aid and the start of the reconstruction process in Gaza , and said, “We will never leave the Gaza Strip and we will do our best to support our people in Gaza.”
British Foreign Secretary Lammy stressed that they were committed to a two-state solution and said that his country was working to ensure an urgent ceasefire in Gaza, to deliver humanitarian aid, to halt the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank and to protect Palestinian lands
Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein al-Sheikh, also discussed the developments in Palestine with British Foreign Secretary Lammy.
