Meaningful Graduation Ceremony at Ibn Haldun University

Martyr students and academics from Gaza were not forgotten at the graduation ceremony held at the Ibn Haldun University complex in Başakşehir. Graduates and academics carried cockades with the names of these students and academics on their robes.

Bilal Erdoğan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of IHU, emphasized the university’s goal of becoming an international research university in the field of social sciences and drew attention to the special structure of their institution, which he described as “the only star in its “own sky.” Erdoğan stated that they aim for students and academics among the graduates to return to their universities by completing doctorates in international fields.

Rector Prof. Dr. Atilla Arkan, Rector of Gaza Islamic University Prof, who lost his life as a result of Israeli attacks. Dr. He drew attention to the oppression in Gaza by carrying the cockade bearing Sufyan Tayeh’s name. Arkan emphasized to the students that they should be the leaders of their age and stated that IHU has an important position worldwide.

Guest of honor, Glasgow University President Gassan Abu Sitte, of Palestinian origin, stated that international institutions were inadequate in the Palestinian issue and praised Turkey’s support for Palestine. Sitte emphasized that the education given to Ibn Haldun University graduates is a treasure that will last a lifetime.

Following the speeches, the graduation ceremony continued with the awarding of diplomas. Instead of throwing their caps at the ceremony, the graduates quietly dropped their caps on the ground and called on the world academy to be more sensitive to pro-Israel circles.
